A small team. Boring infrastructure on purpose.
Norvik Cloud OY was founded in 2024 in Helsinki. We’re six engineers and one finance person. We previously ran platform teams at fintech and gaming companies in the Nordics — we got tired of explaining the same incident postmortems over and over, so we packaged the runbooks into a product.
What we believe
Boring beats clever
Postgres, Redis, S3-compatible storage. No NoSQL flavor of the month. We optimize for predictability over hype.
Egress should not be a tax
Hyperscalers charge ~€0.09/GB egress to make leaving expensive. We charge €0.01/GB after the first 100 GB. That’s the actual cost.
EU data, EU rules
All data stays in EEA. We don’t process under the Cloud Act. If a US authority asks for your data, the answer is “we don’t have it”.
Status pages should be honest
Our incidents are auto-published from monitoring, not edited by marketing. If we’re down, the status page says so within 60 seconds.
Where we run
We operate two production regions and one DR region:
- helsinki-1 — Hetzner FSN1 datacenter, Helsinki. Primary for EU North customers.
- stockholm-1 — GleSYS Stockholm DC, Sweden. Primary for EU central customers.
- amsterdam-1 — LeaseWeb AMS-01, Netherlands. DR / read replica region.
We don’t lease from AWS / GCP / Azure. The hardware is ours, we rack it ourselves.
Open positions
We hire infrequently and only for senior roles. Currently we’re looking for:
- Site Reliability Engineer (Helsinki, hybrid)
- Postgres specialist / DBRE (remote-EU)
Send a CV plus a short note about a recent on-call incident you handled to jobs@norvik.cloud.
